Hey Georgia! Where are you from originally and where do you live now?

I live in South Wales

Since we last worked together you’ve been doing more of your incredible automotive illustrations! Is this something you love?
Yes absolutely! I've always loved being creative and making art. If younger me knew that I was creating art for people now, she would freak out!

What do you love the most about drawing motorcycles?

I love the fact that I get completely engrossed in drawing the intricate parts on motorbikes. You hit a sweet spot when you're mulling over the smallest of details and everything around you will just fade away and your mind completely shuts off for a while.

Another thing that's really awesome about drawing motorbikes is the stories you get from the people who are commissioning you. You hear about the amazing memories they've made from behind the handlebars which can also be a great way to get inspired about what you're working on. The people that approach me want their motors immortalised into art because it's their pride and joy, I really understand and feel that enthusiasm when I'm creating each piece.

Where do you get most of your inspiration from?

I get inspiration from a lot of different places, but the biggest source is always from my family and friends who have been the biggest supporters of my art since day one. Way before I was even specialising in what I do now.

How would you describe your style of work?

Laid back realism

Have any other artists in particular been an influence on you?

I'm very lucky to be surrounded by many amazing artists in this field. There's seriously so many to name but here are some of the biggest inspirations:
Stoke and Bear
Chris Dunlop

Kate Hunt
Roman Miah
The Drawn Studio

What has been your favourite recent project you’ve worked on and why?

I loved loved lovvvvved working on a piece I did for Bolddog FMX who are a motocross stunt display team. I drew Arran Powley doing crazy sh*t in the air and it was so much fun to draw something that had movement to it. I typically draw static references, so this was definitely a fun one!

How does your life inspire your work?

I'm lucky to be surrounded by car and moto culture daily, this is a very big driver in keeping me passionate with what I do.

This isn’t your first custom VC X Bell helmet and your last went down an absolute storm! Did you want to go down a totally different route this time with your awesome Bell helmet design?

I loved working on that lid! For that particular design, I wanted it to have a purpose and to encourage people to think about mental health. For this latest design, I had the itch to create an interactive helmet which is not something I've seen done before.

The main inspiration for this year's design was Elspeth Beard who was one of the first English women to travel around the world on a motorbike. This idea then took me to travel in a wider sense, then I went to maps, then I landed on scratch maps! I loved the idea of having a helmet that the owner could get inspired to hit the roads on and scribble all their adventures on the helmet as they go. Truth be told, I'm a bit jealous of whoever wins this years raffle at Camp VC, I wanted this one for myself!

What materials did you use to create the helmet?

I used chinagraph pencils to map out the initial sketch, 1 shot paint and some super thin brushes to get those teeny tiny strokes.

What was the process you used to paint the helmet?
I began looking for inspiration before sticking with the final design. Once I was happy, I began playing around with the layout and figuring out how I wanted this to wrap around the shape of the helmet. I then started sketching with my chinagraph pencil, chucked on my favourite playlist to hype me up and went straight to painting.

How long did it take you to create?

In total around 15 hours, not including the amount of time I spent reading about Elspeth Beard's wicked story!
